The Guest in the House

A monk taught that our minds are like houses with open doors. Every day, new thoughts and feelings come and go, like guests. The monk advised, “Don’t cling to any guest—welcome each one and let them pass.” His students learned to observe their emotions without attachment.

Allow thoughts and feelings to come and go without grasping them.
